Artwork Part 5

The top picture is the work space between the two wardrobes; baby clothes in the left one, wedding dress in the right one. The workspace is going to have a homemade cake displayed in the dome with icing reading;

'To have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part'

Once the cake has been cut it becomes an irreversible change; it will never be whole again. I wanted this to demonstrate how once vows are broken they too can never be the same. However the book represents the love between a parent and a child which isn't perishable and unconditional without taking vows.
The wardrobes display two sets of clothes each representing persons affected by adultery. The left, smaller wardrobe exhibits my childhood clothes the right, larger wardrobe my Mums wedding dress. I displayed the dress facing away from the viewer to correlate with the reverse facing photo frames mentioned before. I tied the sleeves at the back to signify Mum not having a choice in the end of her marriage. It was out of her control.
